Rafael Nadal is widely expected to focus his attention on the clay court stint that will happen in September and October with 3 main tournaments in Madrid, Rome and Paris. However, the Spaniard will try to defend his title in Rome probably without fans. The organizations of these tournaments are doing everything they can to have some spectators on the premises to preserve the atmosphere. The French Open is aiming at having fans filling 60% of its capacity and the Madrid Open will also try to have some spectators.

However, that may not happen in Rome as the Scientific Committee rejected the plan of having 17 thousand fans on the premises according to the Italian outlet La Repubblica. This means that the Internazionali D’Italia is widely expected of being played without fans.

Rafael Nadal aiming at his 10th title

It seems that Rafael Nadal has already won 9 titles in Rome and he will go for his 10th this year. The Spanish sensation is officially in the entry lists of the North American swing (Western & Southern Open and US Open), but he is widely expected to stay in Europe to compete only on Clay.
