We need mixed like the one played by Federer and Serena Williams. ANDY MURRAY

Andy Murray relished seeing mixed doubles like the ones played by Roger Federer and Serena Williams and he thinks that tennis needs more of that.

Roger Federer And Serena Williams

Roger Federer and Serena Williams engaged in a rather memorable match at the Hopman Cup back in 2019. The Swiss sensation partnered with Belinda Bencic while Serena was teaming up with Frances Tiafoe. Eventually, it was the Swiss team to win 4-2 4-3, but the exceptional thing was seen 2 active tennis legends such as Roger and Serena sharing the court.

Andy Murray about mixed doubles

Andy has a huge passion for his sport and he was among the millions of people that enjoyed watching the match.

“I think sports miss a bit of a trick with this stuff. The Hopman Cup, for example, was a brilliant event in my opinion. The players enjoyed it. It sometimes had a little bit of an exhibition feel in some of the matches but that would be my only criticism,” said Andy.

Unfortunately, the Hopman Cup was later replaced to give space to the ATP Cup.
