Naomi Osaka is well known for being one of the strongest tennis players in the world. Currently ranked 10, the Japanse sensation has already 2 slams under her belt after winning the US Open (2018) and the Australian Open (2019).
During a recent video chat published by the Washington Wizards, Naomi discussed her involvement in Basketball. However, she also admitted that her skills in this sport are not great.

“I’ve played basketball a little bit when I was younger. Not officially on a team, just on a public basketball court because my dad used to play and he thought it would be a fun off-training, I guess. But I wasn’t really good at it at all.”

Then Naomi was asked to express her opinion about Rui Hachimura that is the second Japanese in history to play in the NBA.
“I think he’s a perfect role model. He’s hardworking, he seems to really love basketball a lot, and I think in times of hardship people love to look up to someone. And I think he’s perfect for that,” said Naomi.
Naomi and the US Open
Naomi’s management agency confirmed that she will play the US Open. There were some doubts as the Japanese champion was not in the entry lists of both the Western & Southern Open and the US Open.

Now the world no.10, Osaka played her last match on the 7th of February when she lost to Sara Sorribes Tormo 6-0 6-3 in the Rubber 1 of the Fed Cup.
Naomi Osaka’s most significant accomplishment of the year was getting to the semi-finals in Brisbane.
