Naomi Osaka and Bianca Andreescu surprised the tennis community for not being present in the entry lists of both the Western & Southern Open and the US Open. Obviously, their absence prompted speculations about the possibility that they have decided not to compete in the US swing.
Why Naomi Osaka will play the US Open
According to reports, Naomi Osaka’s management team sent an email to Reuters confirming the participation of Naomi at both the Western & Southern Open and the US Open. Of course, there are still question marks about why then Naomi is not in the latest entry lists. Actually, Osaka will play the Western & Southern Open using a wild card.
While Naomi is confirmed, there are still doubts about the US Open defending champion Bianca Andreescu as the Canadian is strangely silent. However, it would be weird to learn that she will miss the US stint after being out of the Competition for almost one year.
Unfortunately, it has been confirmed that Ashleigh Barty will not play the US Open and it is widely expected also the absence of Simona Halep and Elina Svitolina.
