Rafael Nadal And Novak Djokovic In New York Acceptance List

Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Dominic Thiem, and Stefanos Tsitsipas are among the top players that are part of the Western & Southern Open acceptance list. This year the tournament will be staged in New York (not in Cincinnati) in the so-called bubble that has been created to keep players and members of the teams safe during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Will Nadal play the US Open?

It is not a surprise to see Novak Djokovic in the entry list as the world no.1 has been training on hard courts with the same balls that will be adopted at the US Open. Therefore, the Serbian sensation is widely expected to play the American swing.

On the other side, even if Nadal is in the W&S acceptance list he is most probably going to skip the entire American summer to focus on the European clay season. Rafa is currently training on clay and there is no reason to think he will go to New York to risk an injury that occurs regularly when he plays in the US.
