Serena Williams, Tsitsipas’ coach Mouratoglou launches 2nd UTS edition

Patrick keeps on pushing is revolutionary format

Patrick Mouratoglou seems to be happy with the results and the coverage obtained by his revolutionary Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS). The Frenchman hosted this event at his Academy in the south of France with an interesting line-up of some mixed personalities. Eventually, it was Matteo Berrettini to conquer the competitions after saving 2 championship points in the final against Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Patrick has just announced the launch of a second edition of the Ultimate Tennis Showdown, and this time ladies are included in it. Unfortunately, Serena Williams and Stefanos Tsitsipas (both coached by Patrick) are not part of the event that will be played between the 25th of July and the 2nd of August. Serena will compete in Lexington on the 10th of August, and Stefanos will probably focus on preparing for the US Open.

On the men’s side, the following players have been announced: Grigor Dimitrov, Fernando Verdasco, Richard Gasquet, Feliciano Lopez, Alexei Popyrin, Corentin Moutet, Benoit Paire, and Dustin Brown.

On the female’s side, we will have only 4 players: Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Ons Jabeur, Alize Cornet, and Brenda Fruhvirtova. The presence of Fruhvirtova will be particularly interesting. The Czech youngster has just turned 13 and she has recently defeated the world no.54 Katerina Siniakova 7-6 6-1. She is a huge prospect for the WTA.

Patrick Mouratoglou commented:

“We knew from the beginning that the UTS was not going to be a one-shot. I’m very proud of UTS1’s success, and that we were able to follow up with a second edition so quickly. I’m looking forward to seeing more of UTS this weekend.”
