Lucas Pouille has been struggling for long with his right elbow to decide to have an operation finally. The Frenchman took advantage of these uncertain times so much affected by the Coronavirus pandemic and the fact that the ranking system was changed using a 22-months’ logic. Therefore, Lucas’ rankings will not be heavily affected by a long stop.
The Frenchman announced on Social Media that the operation was successful, and he is looking forward to getting back to tennis.
“Hello everyone, The operation went well and we will start the rehabilitation as soon as possible. Thank you all for your support and I hope to see you on the courts very soon,” he posted.

Lucas lamented that he was struggling particularly when serving, and he probably made a mistake in trying to play the Challenger in Indian Wells where he lost in straight sets to Noah Rubin. That was the only official match played by Pouille in 2020. Probably he had to undergo surgery a few months ago. Better late than ever.
