Serena Williams and Venus Williams will yet be playing another tournament together. The 23-time grand slam champion is chasing Margaret Court’s major record, and she needs to win the upcoming US Open to match the Australian champion. However, Serena realized that to do that she needs some warm-up tournaments before competing in majors and she decided to play in Lexington.
The fans will also be blessed with the presence of Venus Williams that confirmed her presence at the upcoming US Open.
“Ultimately, I really cannot wait to return to New York and play the U.S. Open 2020. I feel like the U.S.T.A. is going to do a really good job of ensuring everything is amazing and everyone is safe.
It’s gonna be exciting. It’s been over six months since a lot of us have played professional tennis. I’ll certainly miss the fans, don’t get me wrong. Just being out there with that New York crowd and hear everyone cheer, I’ll really miss that in some of those tough matches. But this is crazy, I’m excited,” she said.
