Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray have inspired generations with their fantastic performance and results. However, they also proved to be great role models being active to help others.
Lendale Johnson (actor and tennis player) has not achieved the greatness of the big4, nevertheless he was grateful to these tennis icons for their stance in supporting the LGBTQ community.
Being openly gay on tour since 2013, Lendale is well-aware of the discrimination that LGBTQ athletes may face. During a recent interview with “The Metro,” talking about Federer and Djokovic, he commented:
“They are icons who have worked on social issues throughout their careers. From unequal pay to ensuring fair conditions for wheelchair users, they have made their contribution. They were like a rock in the surf to support the LGBTQ athletes.”
Back in 2013, during an interview, Roger revealed that it would not be a problem at all if a player would turn gay. The Swiss Maestro also said that he doesn’t know about any male player to be homosexual and it would not be an issue if someone would come out.
In addition, Lendale is added that also Nadal and Murray showed their support for the LGBTQ community saying that they “have never shied away from talking about this topic. That helped a lot of players who had trouble coming out.”

Currently ranked no.129, the Brit played his last match on the 20th of November 2019 when he beat Tallon Griekspoor 6-77 6-4 7-65 in the Rubber 1 of the Davis Cup.
Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray played each other 24 times. The head to head is 17-7 for Nadal. The last time that they played, Andy Murray won 7-5 6-4 in the semifinal in Madrid (Mutua Madrid Open) in May 2016.
