Injured Almagro will not play against Canada – Davis Cup

Tough luck for the Spanish team as they can’t definitely play with their best line up in Canada.

The Spanish Armada has “lost” Rafa (that is busy with his South American swing), David Ferrer and now Nicolas Almagro that has to recover from an injury probably occurred during his match against his friend Ferrer in the quarterfinals in Melbourne.

According to the media Nicolas will be replaced by Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, ranked 85th. Granollers (currently world no.32) is expected to play both singles and doubles. Garcia-Lopez (or Ramos) should play the other single.

Considering that Canada will be led by Raonic (currently world no.15), we expect the North Americans to win 2 singles and the Europeans to win the other 2 as the second Canadian single player should be Pospisil (wolrd no.127).

THe doubles should make the difference and it should be Nestor – Raonic vs Granollers-Lopez.

In the mean time the team met Rafa at the airport… they may get inspired by that….!
