Naomi Osaka is an interesting personality not only because of her success on the tennis court, but also for her interesting ethnicity and activism. The former world no.1 was born in Osaka from a Japanese mother and a Haitian father and she was raised in the US. Unfortunately, Naomi is quite knowledgeable about being considered an outcast, racism and its implications. She has been extremely active after the killing of George Floyd even flying to Minneapolis to give her support.
The Japanese champion is now extremely upset about how Asians are sometimes bullied in the US as pointed to be the root cause of the spread of the Coronavirus. Unfortunately, the President of the United States is not helping the cause as he has been labeling the Coronavirus as the “kung flu.”
Naomi posted a rather direct message on Twitter saying: “But…but hear me out. Stop bullying the Asian community in regards to COVID”
