This year Wimbledon shocked tennis players, fans and people all over the world after announcing the cancellation of the event because of the Coronavirus pandemic. It’s worth noticing that the decision was helped by the fact that the organization had the insight of being insured against a pandemic.
The Championships already contributed to a player relief fund and made contributions to support British tennis. However, in an act of pure generosity, they announced that they will distribute slightly more than £10 million to 620 players that would have played the competition.
