“I am going to miss tennis so much” – Federer talks about retiring getting close

Roger Federer had to have his second procedure to his right knee as the first surgery didn’t go perfectly. The ai of the Swiss sensation is to gt back to competitions next year and with the tour halted this was the perfect moment to take a long hiatus.

However, the world no.4 is very well aware that at almost 39 years of age, retirement is getting closer and closer. During a recent interview with German newspaper Zeit, Roger admitted that he feels a bit anxious about not playing anymore to comment:

“In principle, I was only concerned with my health, but now I miss the feeling of playing in a full stadium. Retirement is getting closer and I will miss tennis so much. It would be easier for me to retire now, but I wanna give myself a chance to keep enjoying my time on the court.”
