Roger Federer is currently recovering from his second procedure to his right knee. The Swiss Maestro had already an operation 5 months ago, but that didn’t go that well and therefore recently the world no.4 had to have another one to be out from competitions at least until the beginning of 2021.
During a nice video intended to promote Federer’s new shoe line, Roger gave some updates about his fitness as follows:
“I’ve had two knee surgeries, so it has been dominated by that—by rehabbing, being on crutches, recovering from the surgery and taking it step by step. I must say I feel much better already again. I am not at a level that can play full tennis, but the goal is to play tennis next year.
It’s great to be home and that I can do it all in my home. It’s been nice for us as a family. For me, it’s been very nice to be in Switzerland for as long as I have. The longest I’ve stayed at home probably is five to six weeks and now here we are, four to five months in, and I’m still in Switzerland.”
Roger “chose” the right year to stay out of the competition as the tour has been halted because of the Coronavirus pandemic. Furthermore, the ranking system was changed following a 22-month logic and for this reason, Roger won’t lose any point until he will be back.
