Federer’s coach gives updates about Roger’s recovery

Why there is optimism about Roger's recovery

Federer

Roger Federer decided to skip the entire 2020 after announcing that he had to undergo another knee operation. Unfortunately, the Swiss legend had a procedure back in February, but there were some problems during the recovery. Since the season has already been heavily affected by the Coronavirus pandemic, Roger decided to correct the issue so as to aim to get back to competitions already next year.

Talking to SRF Sport, Roger’s coach Severin Luthi commented:

“First priority is that Roger gets 100% healthy again, nice thing is that with Roger you still get the feeling you’re on the court with a junior and not with a player who’s rather at the end of his career, those are perfect conditions we’re focused on next season.”

Roger is doing well. Rehabilitation has gone according to plan after the 2nd surgery. No big intensity until know, he will start a physical fitness block with Pierre Paganini shortly.”

This is great news as Severin is often extremely straight when talking about Federer’s physical situation. Before the Maestro announced the second procedure, Luthi already announced that things were not going so well.
