Feliciano Lopez wasn’t impressed at all with what has happened during the Adria Tour, however, he thinks that it is unfair to give the entire blame to Novak Djokovic.
The Adria Tour was the brainchild of the Serbian champion. Unfortunately, Novak was carried away a bit too much by the enthusiasm. Nevertheless, if Feliciano acknowledges that Nole could have managed things better, the Spaniard also stressed the fact that at the end of the day he didn’t act against the local regulations.
“The country’s politicians, the health authorities, who allow them to hold an event of 4,000 people without masks in the stands, also have a very large part of the responsibility for what has happened,” said the Spaniard.
Also, Feliciano added that public gatherings happened also in other sports in Serbia and that wasn’t great for the image of the country.
“Outside of what the tournament is, they have also made football matches or parties that are avoidable and could have been done differently. I think in Serbia they have allowed them to do an event that did not give out the image that it should have,” he commented.
