Grigor Dimitrov and Novak Djokovic used to have a great relationship. However, that may be over if the world no.1 will not refuse his father’s allegations against the Bulgarian.
Djokovic’s father, Srdjan, is not well-known for being too gracious with some Novak’s colleagues. The Serbian is used to attack the likes of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer to create a lot of unnecessary animosities. Things went to an all-new level after the Adria Tour disaster when the event was canceled because it helped the spread of the Coronavirus among the teams and the community as no social distancing was observed.
Srdjan Djokovic stunned the tennis community and beyond after unfairly accusing Grigor Dimitrov to be the seed of the problem saying that he was the one to bring the virus on the tour with his reckless behavior. The Bulgarian ace was the first one to report to be infected, but that doesn’t mean at all that he was the one to spread the virus.
The reply from Grigor Dimitrov’s agent
Grigor’s agent, Georgi Stoimenov commented as follows:
“Regarding what Srdjan Djokovic said to Croatian television, I want to inform you about the following: Grigor landed directly in Belgrade after three months of complete isolation. Neither in Belgrade nor later in Zadar (Croatia) he was offered or required to test for coronavirus.
The event organizers are the ones responsible for the safe running of the event and creating rules to follow. Grigor strictly respected all the rules imposed by the organizers of the tournament and existing laws and regulations in the crossing of the border between Bulgaria, Serbia and Croatia.”
Here a brief video showing the great relationship that Novak and Grigor used to have. This may be over.
