Serena Williams training hard with male professional players, says her coach

Serena Williams has a couple of good shots this year to finally win the elusive 24th slam title that would make her tie Margaret Court’s record. The American legend has already been training hard even if her coach Patrick Mouratoglou is currently not in the US as he is taking care of the event he has just launched: the Ultimate Tennis Showdown.

Serena has been training with male players so as to get used to “heavy rallies.” Her coach Patrick revealed that even if he is not with her, she has been sending videos about her training for comments.

“It’s time to push hard. She’s been practicing with professional male players. Unfortunately, I’m not in the U.S., so she practices without me, but she’s sending me some videos of her practice sessions and we discuss on the phone. But for all the players, it’s really a special situation. Everybody is going to try to deal with it the best possible way, and we’ll see what’s going to happen,” he revealed.

Serena is so professional to have resurfaced her home court with the same material that will be used at the US Open so as to be 100% ready to compete. Serena has already won 1 title this year in Auckland with the help of Jarmere Jenkins that is used to train with her.
