Ana Ivanovic’s injury scare as she defeats Molik in Perth

Team Serbia looks stronger and stronger and it seems well positioned to win  the Hyundai Hopman Cup in Perth.

As already happened in the 2010 Davis Cup, Novak Djokovic looks almost unbeatable in this kind of competitions.
Ana Ivanovic had also a very good match against Alicia Molik.
After a difficult first set where Ivanovic had to climb from a 3-4 (and one break down) to a 6-4 win, the Serbian had an easy 6-0 in the second set.
Ivanovic had a big scare during the 3rd game of the second set when she tweaked her left knee.
‘I was a little bit scared because of that one split-step I made I went really low and I just felt like a sharp pain in my knee,’ she said

‘I was a little bit scared because in that one split second I went really low, I just felt like sharp pain in my knee. So I just thought I better check with the doctors what they think and I’m going to go see them afterwards, but it’s fine.’
After the match she said: ”I think it was high class tennis considering it is just the beginning of the year, but I’m really happy that I managed to win the first set. It was very important to break to be four-all, especially after losing my serve.’
