Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian have a great relationship that goes beyond a “normal” marriage. Serena and Alexis are among the most influential Americans and they keep on inspiring each other.

Besides winning all sorts of titles on court, Serena is also an important point of reference for the black community and women in general. However, things have not been always easy for the American as she had to crawl hr way to stardom. Alexis is well-known for being the founder of the popular social network Reddit and he has recently hit the headlines for leaving its board. Alexis wasn’t pleased by the stance of Reddit toward racism as the company has been accused of not shutting down some so-called subdirectories that accepted racists remarks.

Alexis inspired by Serena to understand his privilege

During a recent interview with CBS morning, Alexis explained that he understood form Serena the privilege he had to be heard while his wife had to struggle much more to be heard.

“I default expect to be heard because all of my life when I bring something up, I’m generally in a position where someone’s going to hear me, take my side, and hear what I have to say. And it’s not until I’m talking to my wife about things that I really understand that is not a luxury that she has had,” he commented.
