Stefanos Tsitsipas has always stated Roger Federer is his childhood idol. The Greek sensation decided to adopt the one-handed backhand after being inspired by Roger and Pete Sampras. Like Federer, Stefanos is not shy about expressing his emotions and cry if he is upset by losing an important match.

Tsitsipas and Mouratogou

Stefanos has been partnering with Mouratoglou for many years and he is used to training at his Academy. The world no.6 has always shared his admiration for Patrick and the Frenchman has confessed that he loves training with Tsitsipas because of his unique personality.

“When I’m on a tennis court with him, you have no idea how much I enjoy myself. Because the way he plays tennis is just unbelievable. His personality is very different from anyone else,” Mouratoglou revealed.

Patrick is also very keen on tennis players expressing their emotions. The coach states that tennis has been failing in rejuvenating its fanbase because emotions are not encouraged.

Stefanos broke into tears when last year he lost a heartbreaking match at the Roland Garros against Stan Wawrinka 7-66 5-7 6-4 3-6 8-6 after scoring 1 point more than the Swiss.

Patrick was happy to notice that the Greek ace had to remorse in showing his emotions.

“He’s created his world and I love that he is extremely open with his emotions. He’s the type of guy who would cry in a press conference because he lost a match and he is completely OK with that. Some people think he shouldn’t cry, I think it is great. Share with the people. He’s so passionate and it is so important to him to win, he’s ambitious and he shows it,” he added.
