Stefanos Tsitsipas and Richard Gasquet are going to face off on Saturday on the occasion of the inaugural day of Patrick Mouratoglou’s Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS).
The Frenchman launched this interesting event that has also the aim of rejuvenating the sport. The matches will be staged with no fans and players will be allowed to show their emotions on-court. The competitions will be hosted at the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy in the South of France.
10 players will face each other in a “mega-round-robin” over 5 weeks. Stefanos Tsitsipas is the highest-ranked player to compete. As of now, it’s not clear the match format.

Stefanos has been residing at the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy for the last few weeks where he is conducting his training. The Greek sensation is elated with playing the UTS as it sees the event as a way to modernize tennis.

Ranked world no.50, Richard played his last match on the 27th of February when he was defeated by Gael Monfils 6-3 6-3 in the quarter in Dubai.
