Serena Williams tweets strong Nike’s message against Racism

Serena raises her voice again against racism

Serena Williams is among the most notable characters of colors in the world. The tennis legend has been inspiring women and the black community in general with her success and actions off court.

Serena already posted a touching video of a young girl expressing her feelings when talking about racism following the killing of George Floyd.

Subsequently, Serena tweeted a strong message from Nike. The brand is well known for her slogan, “Just do it.” However, this time the lines of the video starts as follows:

“For once don’t do it. Don’t pretend there’s not a problem in America. Don’t turn your back on racism. Don’t accept innocent lives being taken from us. Don’t make any more excuses. Don’t think this doesn’t affect you. Don’t sit back and be silent.”

The tennis community has been extremely vocal about the recent racist episodes in the US. Besides Serena, also Naomi Osaka, Coco Gauff, Felix Auger Aliassime, Frances Tifoe and Amanda Anisimova raised their voice.
