Tomic wins a tough 4 setter in Melbourne

Great game for Bernard. Daniel Brands was a qualifier, but a damn good one. The German won the opener 7-6 to then succumb only in the 4th set to Tomic.

It was remarkable the fact that Tomic wasn’t broken once to make him comment “That’s probably the best I’ve ever served,”

Then he added “I didn’t get broken today at all, not even in the first round. I think the last break of serve was in the quarters against  Nieminen in Sydney. I think I just got broken once there. Tells you I’m serving really well. I’m going to use all this confidence in the next round. Potentially who waits there, we’ll see.”

Talking about playing Federer

Tomic will play Federer in the 3rd round to comment “This is the perfect time to play him. I’ve got a good attitude to win. I’ve beaten a lot of good players over the last past two weeks, especially Novak”

Head to Head Federer – Tomic

It’s 3-0 for Roger. They have already played last year in the forth round of the Australian Open when Federer won 6-4 6-2 6-2.

Tomic has improved a lot since then, but Roger looks as strong as ever.

Game on!
