Sharapova serves another 6-0 6-0. Stosur crashes out at the AO2013

Maria Sharapova has another incredible performance to dougle bagel another player back to back. The remarkable stuff is that Maria gets to the third round of the Australian Open without losing a game. Maria is the first player to acieve this feat since Wendy Turnbull in 1985.

Sharapova – Doi 6-0 6-0

It took only 47 minutes for Maria to win this match without conceding a single break point. At the end the Russian won 48 points out of 63.

Maria will play Venus Williams in the next match to comment.

“I hope for it to be a great match. You certainly know what she’s capable of,” Sharapova said.”But when you’re out on the court, you’re not thinking about how many titles she’s won or how experienced she is. You’re thinking about what you need to do to step it up in a certain situation and win as many points as you can.”

Head to head is 5-4 for Venus… interesting match.

Venus Williams – Cornet 6-3 6-3

Easy ride from Venus. It took only 77 minutes to win this match. Maybe the American has to revise something on her serve as she committed 6 double faults and only 1 ace.

Zheng Jie – Stosur 6-4 1-6 7-5

Another year, same stuff for Sam at the Australian Open. This time it wasn’t really pretty as Sam recovered from 1 set down to win the second set 6-1 and lead 5-2 in the decider…. then… the hell! Sam lost 5 straight games to crash out once again in the early stages of the Australian Open.

The match ended with the ninth double fault from Sam.

Radwanska – Begu 6-3 6-3

Agnieszka can be the surprise of the Australian Open. She won back to back the previous two tournaments and she really looks to be a serious contender in Melbourne. This was an 86 stroll for the Pole that was always in control of the match.

“I can play even better,” said Radwanska. “I didn’t really expect I could win that many matches in a row, and hopefully I can keep going.”

The Pole will play Heater Watson in the next round. Head to head is 1-0 for Agnieszka (6-2 6-0 in the third round of last year’s Wimbledon).
