Bianca Vanessa Andreescu, Sofia Kenin, Amanda Anisimova, and Eugenie Bouchard are among the top names that will compete in Charleston in June.
The event will commence on the 23rd of June with Andreescu and Kenin to be among the most interesting players to watch. The Canadian had an outstanding 2019 with 3 major titles in Indian Wells, Toronto, and at the US Open. However, her stunning run was brutally halted at the WTA Finals when she had to withdraw with a knee injury while facing Karolina Pliskova. Bianca planned to stay out of the competitions for long and she was due to be back in the second mart of March during the Miami Open. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen because of the Coronavirus outbreak.
It will also be interesting seeing Sofia Kenin back as the American is eager to keep on winning after conquering the title at the Australian Open.
With some exceptions, the tours are going to restart by the beginning of August. However, it is still unclear if there will be a further extension of this prolonged hiatus. In the meantime, there is a series of regional and unofficial tournaments that are starting all over the places (Germany, France, Balkans, and in the US). The hope is that everything will be back at least for the Us Open.

Ranked world no.4 (career-high), the American played her last match on the 8th of March when she defeated Anna-Lena Friedsam 6-2 4-6 6-4 in the final in Lyon to win her 5th career title.
Currently, this year Sofia has a 15-5 win-loss record. Kenin has won 2 titles in 2020 at the Australian Open and in Lyon.
