Stefanos Tsitsipas is one of the most interesting players in tennis not only for his great results but also for his interesting views about sport and life in general.
The 21-year-old is currently training in the South of France at the Patrick Mouratoglou Academy where he is enjoying the surrounding and the forced paused caused by the Coronavirus pandemic.
Tsitsipas and the envinronemnt
During a recent Instagram video with former world no.10 Barbara Schett-Eagle, Stefanos admitted that even if he was missing the competitions, in a way he regarded the lockdown as a positive thing to comment:
“Life is pretty different being in lockdown. We are in a pause and it feels very different not being able to engage with people, be in places where there are many people you can hang out with other people. It’s about having the daily connections you have with other people. That is something I have missed. I also miss the competition, the traveling, the competing. It gives you another view on life in this situation, one I certainly have not been used to. It takes me back to when I was a young kid and I didn’t travel so much then.
I actually think they should put us in lockdown once a year. It’s good for nature, it’s good for our planet. I actually think it will be environmentally very beneficial. Life is such a hustle, and you never get the time to spend with your family and connect with them. Now it’s an opportunity to do so.”
