Naomi Osaka has always stated her admiration for Serena Williams and her success on court. However, that may very well extend off-court. The 23-slam champion has launched a series of businesses mainly related to fashion and during a recent interview with Nikkei, Naomi admitted that she wants to do something similar.
The former world no.1 commented:
“I am really interested in the business side of my career. Most of the time athletes wait until the end of their career to do this, but I think it makes sense to be smart about my business from early on. I trust my business team to bring me great ideas and then we decide together. I’m lucky to have some great partners in Japan.”
Naomi can really on important partnerships such as the ones with Japanese noodle company Nissin Foods and All Nippon Airways, part of ANA Holdings as her appeal is getting stronger and strong because of her results, interesting personality and multi-ethnicity.
About her interest in fashion
Naomi debuted at New York Fashion Week last February with a collection designed in partnership with Japanese designer Hanako Maeda’s Adeam brand.
“I’ve always been passionate about fashion. I have memories of my parents driving my sister and me to tennis matches, and to pass the time, we would sketch clothing designs.”
