Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic didn’t have a great relationship especially at the very beginning of Novak’s career. Nole ‘s parents have always been extremely harsh toward Federer and after so many years, Djokovic’s mother Dijana keeps on insulting Roger.
During a recent interview with the Serbian media, talking about the epic win of Djokovic over Federer during the 2019 Wimbledon final, Dijana commented:
“In a stadium where everyone was cheering on Roger Federer, we were just a handful of fans for Novak. It’s not nice that I’m annoyed by Federer or others at such moments. But it annoyed me because Federer is a bit arrogant”.
Unfortunately, these comments hurt a lot Nole that he doesn’t deserve this kind of attention and he is a very nice soul.
Andy Roddick not impressed
During a recent interview with the Tennis Channel, Andy Roddick was asked to comment on Dijana ‘s words. He wasn’t impressed at a lot to say:
“It’s just unnecessary. I don’t know if we need to throw this around from the sidelines. I think it probably wouldn’t be one of my first 6000 words that I would use to describe Roger.”
Then the American didn’t decline to acknowledge Novak’s accomplishments saying that he has a real chance to be the Greatest of the sport. However, he added that during the last few weeks, there were too many disturbing concepts coming from “that camp.”
Andy said: “I think there have been some stories coming out of that camp that are maybe concerning at best. And so on top of those was turning ‘poisonous drinking water in a glorious thing with our thoughts’. This is actually only the second or third most alarming thing that set out of that camp in the last couple of weeks.”
In the past, Andy revealed a really nice behavior of Federer after he defeated him in a memorable Wimbledon final back in 2009 when the Swiss declined to celebrate the victory in the locker room as Roddick was clearly distraught by the defeat (5-7 7-6 7-6 3-6 16-14)
