Rafael Nadal is extremely pessimistic about the possibility of having our beloved sport back in 2020. The tour has been halted officially until the 13th of July, but the Spanish legend thinks that this year is gone for tennis.
This is what Rafa said during an interview with El Pais, adding that he is now focussed on the 2021 Australian Open.
Rafa commented: “I hope we can return before the end of the year but unfortunately, I don’t think so.
I’m more worried about the Australian Open than what occurs at the end of this year. I think 2020 is practically lost. I hope we can start up again next year, I really hope that’s the case. My feeling and I say it sadly, I won’t lie to you, is that we’re losing a year of our lives. And at 33, 34 years old, that is more valuable than at 20 when you have a lot more ahead.”
Rafa is still chasing Roger Federer’s 20-slams record with 19 majors under his belt.
Rafael Nadal’s ranking and performance in 2020

This season Rafael has a 13-3 win-loss record. Nadal clinched 1 title in Acapulco.
