Bernard appeared to be always in full control of the gamr even when he lost a very tight tiebreak in the opening set at 6. Then he won an important 2nd set after breaking Nieminem taking advantage at the only break point conceded to cruise in the 3rd set.

“I was happy with myself to stay in there,” Tomic said. “Early in that second set, I felt like he was going for shots and was relaxing and for me to stay in there till that 3-all point was really big.
After I won that second set, I freed up and played better tennis.”

This will be the third match between the two and Tomic leads 2-0 (counting also exhibitions). The last time they played few days ago when Tomic defeated Seppi 6-3 7-5 at the Hopman Cup.
