Serena Williams and her devoted husband Alexis Ohanian have a rather interesting story. The tennis legend once explained that she didn’t like him very much at the very beginning when they met for the first time. She was rather annoyed by the fact that he just sat in a table too close to her in a hotel in Rome.
Talking to Vanity Fair, Serena recalled: “This big guy (he is 1.95 m tall) comes and he just plops down at the table next to us, and I’m like, ‘Huh! All these tables and he’s sitting here?’”
Serena and her friends tried to get rid of the “big guy” saying that they saw a rat by his table, but he brilliantly replied: “I’m from Brooklyn. I see rats all the time.”
Then things went in the right direction and they started to date after Serena invited Alexis to see her playing the Roland Garros.
