Novak Djokovic is not “only” the deserving world no.1 and one of the greatest in tennis history; he is also a very generous person.
Nole has already donated 1 million euros to hospitals in Serbia and he has also pledged a “big sum” to help 2 hospitals in the battered Regione Lombardia: the hospitals in Treviglio-Caravaggio e Romano.
The emotion of the recipient
Peter Assembergs, the director-general of the local health authority in Bergamo, commented: “We never expected to see on our bank account a donation from such a prestigious person. Reading among the donators the name of the best tennis player in the world made me emotional.”
Djokovic and his love for Italy
Novak has a special connection with Italy where he trained when he was a teenager with the well-known coach and tennis guru Riccardo Piatti. The Serbian sensation can speak rather good Italian and he entertained his fans (and beyond) during a recent appearance at the “Festival di Sanremo.”
Novak’s lovely wife, Jelena, also used to study at the “Universita’ Bocconi” in Milan.
