Caroline Wozniacki farewell match with Serena Williams postponed because of the Coronavirus

Serena Wozniacki

Tennis got to a halt after the outbreak of the Coronavirus and exhibitions were not immune to that. Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki were expected to play a farewell match (“The final one”) to celebrate the end of the career of the Dane on the 18th of May in Copenhagen, Denmark. Unfortunately, that will not happen and the event had to be postponed.

This was Caroline’s statement on social media:

“Hi Everyone! I am sad to announce that my final match against @serenawilliams has been postponed. The safety and health of everyone is most important! We will be rescheduling for a later date, and will let everyone know as soon as we have one confirmed!

If you already bought tickets to the sold-out match, your tickets will still be good, once we pick a new date! In the meantime, stay safe and thank you for all the support ❤️ Caroline”

Serena replied saying: “…but soon sister.”
