Why there will be no tennis in 2020. MAURESMO

It’s all doom and gloom in tennis after the community learned that Wimbledon and the entire grass season have been wiped out because of the Coronavirus outbreak. The next “stint” in line is the American summer that is meant to culminate the end of August with the US Open. The (usually) last slam of the year has confirmed that it is still on, but many doubts are creeping in the community about its feasibility.

Tennis legend Amelie Mauresmo has conquered 2 slams in her career in 2006 (Australian Open and Wimbledon) and she is extremely active in the tennis world. The Frenchwoman got to twitter to explain why she believes that 2020 is a no-go for tennis.

She wrote: “I think we’re going to have to draw a line under the 2020 tennis season. International circuit = players of all nationalities plus management, spectators and people from the 4 corners of the world who bring these events to life. No vaccine = no tennis.”

That’s rather ominous, but unfortunately we need to concede that this is a possibility.
