DISASTER. Michael Venus explains how the Coronavirus is impacting him from a financial point of view

Michael Venus

This Coronavirus outbreak is a disaster on so many levels. First and foremost, we are experiencing a huge loss of lives, and the forecasts are quite bleak in this sense. Also, this pandemic is already having a colossal implication from a financial and psychological point of view.

Michael Venus is the top double player in New Zealand and he is ranked no.11 in the world. Michael decided to chill at home in Ramarama in Auckland in what is a dreamlike setting. However, even if the location is magnificent and the tennis player is happy about not traveling all over the world, he expressed his financial concerns after tennis stopped.

Doubles players are well-known for not pocketing fat checks such as their peers specialized in singles. This happens because, for some reason, doubles have not the same attractiveness as singles even if they are extremely enjoyable to watch.

Venus hinted that already stopping during the off-season (November/December) is usually not great from a financial point of view. Of course, he was happy for the resume of the activities during the Australian summer in January, but things are getting really bad now with tennis stopping at least for more than 2 months (if lucky).

Here he interviews.
