Are the Roland Garros and Wimbledon in danger after Euro 2020 was posponed?

Nasty news are coming from the soccer world as Euro 2020 was postponed to 2021. The competition was due to commence the 12th of June and last for 1 month, but the complexity of the event made it almost impossible to run. In fact, there are doubts about how long the global lockdown is going to last and the opportunity of the sponsors to keep on endorsing the event as the consumers may have not the same spending capacity as they used to be before the crisis.

Will the Roland Garros and Wimbledon be canceled?

For their nature, organizing the Roland Garros and Wimbledon is easier than organizing an event like Euro2020. However, the complexities and the sponsors are also tricky to manage for a major and it seems that the 24th of May is too soon for the French Open to be held. Still, things are developing fast and it’s hard to speculate. Some are even doubting that Wimbledon is in danger with the Championships dut to start the 29th of June that is just a couple of weeks after the now postponed Euro2020.

There are also some rumors that Wimbledon would not accept to play behind closed doors and that will diminish the possibilities for the event to take place.

What about the US Open?

Unfortunately, some doubts are even creeping out about the possibility the US Open will be canceled after Trump disclosed that they expect the Coronavirus to last for the entire summer and maybe beyond.

It’s a mess, but we need to deal with it.
