US Open in danger after recent comments from Trump about the Coronavirus pandemic

US Open

Gloom and doom are all over the world right now. Even if China is on its way out, the western world is struggling more and more. Europe is progressing to a complete lockdown and the US seems to have lost its plot under rather weak leadership.

About the US Open

While there are debates about the possibility that the Roland Garros may very well be canceled, there are now even doubts on the US Open. The event is supposed to take place from the 24th of August (qualifications), but that may not happen.

President Trump released the following statement:

“We’ve made the decision to further toughen the guidelines and blunt the infection now.

We’d much rather be ahead of the curve than behind it. They think August, could be July, could be longer than that.”

Everything is uncertain, but even if the pandemic lasts until August, there will be probably no time to organize the last slam of the year.
