The outbreak of the Coronavirus has sent shockwaves all over the world and the tennis has been also heavily affected. The ATP suspended its tour for 6 weeks while the ITF and the WTA halted their events for 5 weeks.

There is a lot of talk about the rankings and if they should be frozen or not. However, it seems as the points will be dropped to cause some dire consequences for some top players.

Fabio Fognini’s ranking and performance in 2020

Now ranked no.11, Fognini played his last match on the 6th of March when he defeated Duck Hee Lee 6-0 6-3 in the Rubber 1 of the Davis Cup.

Fognini will probably lose 1000 points as he will not be able to defend his title in Monte Carlo. This means that he is expected to crash out from the top20.

Oablo will crash out the top100 as he will not be able to defend the points that he earned in 2019 after winning the challengers in Marbella and Alicante and reaching the final in Marrakesh.
