Nishikori to clash with Murray in Brisbane Semifinal

We have an interesting semifinal in Brisbane with Murray facing Nishikori.

Murray – Istomin 6-4 7-6 (3)

Not a great-super-smashing result from Andy that is not having a convincing start of the season. After losing to Tipsarevic in the first round of the Mubadala World Tennis Champion Ship, in Brisbane Andy won a quirky opener in 3 sets against the world no.199 to then struggle a bit with Istomin (you expect a bit more from the newly appointed big 4!).

Nishikori – Dolgolopov 6-4 7-6 (3)

Good match from Kei that seeded no.5 defeated Dolgolopov seed no.4. The match was entertaining with Dolgolopov using his incredible variations and Nishikori running as fast as he could. Eventually key won in 1h and 27 minutes blasting 5 aces (vs Dologolopov’s 4) and conceding only 1 break.

Head to Head

Murray leads 2-0 (5-0 in terms of sets). Nishikori won only 10 games.
2012 Australian Open – Murrai-Nishikori  6-3 6-3 6-1
2012 Shanghai Murray Nishikori 6-3 6-0

Andy is the hot favorite… but he is not playing at his best Nishikori might “follow the momentum”
