Azarenka wins her first 2013 match in style – 2013 Brisbane

Vika is back to business. The world no.1 had a very solid match with Lisiki to not concede much to the German. Lisiki didn’t want to easily succumb to display a very powerful serve and blast a couple of +190km/h thunders at Azarenka, but Vika was still too much.

From Vika

“I thought I was serving well but she was sending down bombs,” Azarenka said,”I’m glad I had a tough challenge up first. It’s always good to see where you are. I’m happy with the work I’ve done and I’m where I want to be.”

Vika will face Ksenia Pervak  in the quarters to comment “Well I hope she’s tired,” Azarenka said. “She’s a nice girl and a girl with a lot of potential. She will be really motivated so it will be another challenge.”

In the other side of the draw, Hantuchova and Kerber advance both in tough 3 setters. The German got also the honor of the hot shot of the day.
