Why Amanda Anisimova withdrew from Doha. Indian Wells next?

Amanda had to suddenly withdraw from Doha. Here the reason why.

Amanda Anisimova

Amanda Anisimova seemed to have found a rather good form after a tentative start of the year. After reaching the semifinal in Auckland, Amanda crashed out in the opening match in both Melbourne and Dubai playing not great tennis. Things started to go better later in Doha where she reached 3rd round after playing very good tennis in the first 2 matches.  She also conceded just 6 games in the 2ng round to Elina Svitolina (6-3 6-3).

Amanda was meant to take on Kuznetsova in the 3rd round, but she wasn’t fit to play. In a statement, she explained: “I’m really upset to be withdrawing from Doha, I did everything I could to be ready to play but I’m really not feeling well. I hope I can come back stronger next year.”

Amanda is still expected to compete in Indian Wells in March.
