Azarenka was meant to play Serena Williams in this exhibition, but the American had to pull out due to a minor operation to her toe.
So it was Li Na to replace Serena and it was still great fun. Eventually the Chinese managed to win the match in the third set after a Champions tiebreaker. The final score was 6-3, 2-6, 10-7

“I can beat Azarenka, I think this win makes it around the same for each of us… so we are on a similar level,” Li joked as she lost the last 4 official matches against Vika.

“I was a bit surprised by the surface… I should have practised a little bit more. It was really competitive today, I am really glad to be back and I can’t wait to the start of the season,” she said
Azarenka will now head to Brisbane where she will play her first tournament of the year.
