DOHA RESULTS. Muguruza victorious over Kasatkina in the 1st round of the Qatar Total Open

Garbine Muguruza victorious over Daria Kasatkina 7-5 5-7 6-3 in the 1^st round in Doha on Sunday. Muguruza will try to go further in the tournament when he will face Ajla Tomljanovic in the 2^nd round.

1^st set.

Muguruza overpowered the opposition at the beginning of the set after breaking Kasatkina in the 2^nd game (2-0). Nonetheless, that wasn’t sufficient for Muguruza to win the set since Darya managed to break back in the 3^rd (1-2), in the 5^th (3-2) and in the 9^th (4-5) game. Muguruza kept her cool to break Darya in the 6^th (3-3), in the 8^th (5-3) and in the 12^th (7-5) game.

The Spaniard failed to serve out the set when leading 5-3 to be broken at 30.
