There was not much difference between the 2 players in this set with the exception of 1 break that Tsitsipas conquered in the 4th game (3-1) before winning the set (6-3).

2nd set.

The Greek won the set after he broke Auger-Aliassime in the 5th (3-2) and in the 7th (4-3) game. Auger-Aliassime tried to stage a comeback breaking in the 6th (3-3) game. Anyhow, Stefanos refused to give way before winning the set 6-4.

After the match, Stefanos commented: “I am proud of the fact that mentally I didn’t even crack, not once. That was really good. Although I got broken, I wouldn’t say that that was a mental lapse. Personally, I am very happy with my mental state throughout the whole match.”
