Oh no Rafa, that wasn’t a nice surprise for Christmas!!!
Unfortunately the King of Clay won’t be able to play the Mubadala World Tennis Championship due to a sickness.
Rafa was preparing hard to get back to competitive tennis since he was sidelined by a knee injury. As per Rafa’s words Abu Dhabi was the perfect place to come back…. but that unfortnately is not going to happen.
Apparently Rafa got a strange stomach virus that made it impossible to get back to competitive tennis in Abu Dhabi.

“I am very disappointed that I will not be able to compete this year in Abu Dhabi” Said Rafa
“My rehab has gone well, my knee feels good and I was looking forward to competing. Unfortunately doctors have informed me that my body needs to rest in order to fight this stomach virus.
“I would like to say sorry to all my fans in the United Arab Emirates and around the world, but I hope to play and win in Abu Dhabi again next year.”
Let’s hope to see Rafa up and running for the Australian Open. Vamos Rafa!
