Ahi ahi Serena… that’s a bad news indeed. The American had an incredible 2012 and she was the hot pick for the 2013 Australian Open and… something bad happened.
Serena has been struggling for sometime with some injuries. This time she had to undergo a minor foot operation to fix some problems that could hamper her 2013.
Serena had already to retire from the exhibition in Hua Hin she had to play with Azarenka by the year end. We hope she will play in January.
The Problem
According to Jeffrey Rockefeller, Serena’s podiatrist, she “was treated for a chronic foot disorder which involved minor procedures on both of her great toes.”

“I am being advised by my doctors to take more time to heal following a minor procedure I needed to address my ongoing foot issues,” commented Williams .
This will definately hamper her preparation for the Australian Open, we really hope she won’t have any complication to see her competing in Australia to try to win her 3rd straight slam after triumphing in New York and Wimbledon.
