Coco Gauff continues to enjoy success on the court after her remarkable rise last season. The American teenager had a good run at the Australian Open last month. She recorded a second victory over Venus Williams in the first round and defeated Naomi Osaka in the third round. Gauff lost in the fourth round to Sofia Kenin. The young teenager has proved that she can compete with the best players in the game. She attributes her recent success to working with Roger Federer and Serena Williams.

Coco played with Serena in the Fed cup qualifiers

Gauff has been privileged to work with the two tennis superstars early in her career. The 15-year-old played for Team USA in their Fed Cup qualifier last week against Latvia. It was her first appearance for the senior team. Serena was also on the team, and Gauff said she was looking forward to learning from her tennis idol. “I’m excited to play alongside everyone, especially Serena. It is fun to practice and learn.” Gauff also works closely with Serena’s coach. Patrick Mouratoglou.

I model some routines after Federer

In addition to her experience practicing alongside Serena, Gauff has formed a good relationship with Federer. She is currently represented by Alessandro Albano. Her manager works for the Team 8 agency which was founded by Federer and his agent Tony Godsick. Gauff met Federer at last year’s Wimbledon where she had a sensational run in the tournament. Her association with Federer allows her to observe the 20-time Grand Slam champion’s business acumen. She says that she has tried to replicate most of his good qualities. “Having insight on what Roger does definitely helps. I model some routines after him and how he handles himself.”

The American teenager is aware that she is lucky to work with the two tennis legends. She also knows that working with them gives her an advantage over other tennis players. “Being close to Serena and close to Roger is really a plus for me and an advantage I have to take care of.”After playing in the Fed Cup last week, Gauff will not play at another tournament in February. Her next tournament could be at the Indian Wells Open next month. The WTA eligibility rules limit players under the age of 18 to a set number of tournaments. The restrictions are set according to birth years and Gauff only has one more tournament to play before she turns 16 on March 13th this year.
