Vesely was quite dominant at the beginning of the set to break Gerasimov in the 2^nd game (2-0) before consolidating his break and lead 3-0. That break was crucial for the Czech to win the set (6-3) as no one dropped a serve anymore.

After the match, Jiri admitted: “I have to be realistic. I had a lot of luck in the week, saving six match points in two matches in a row. I think that happens once in a lifetime, maybe, you never know. Two matches in a row, especially in the quarter-finals and semi-finals, is really big.”
