Amanda Anisimova splits with her coach Carlos Rodriguez

Amanda is again without coach

Anisimova

Amanda Anismova is having a rather complicated moment in her young career. The 18-year-old was enjoying a great run in 2019 with the tutelage of her beloved father and coach Konstantin that tragically passed away just before the last US Open.

The American is trying to regroup and she also tried to partner with Carlos Rodriguez that was running his Academy in Beijing. Carlos has a great history with the Chinese tennis as he was the one to coach Na Li when she conquered the Australian Open back in 2014 also to achieve the world no.2 rank. Amanda played a couple of tournaments under the tutelage of Carlos in Auckland where she reached the semifinal and at the Australian Open where she crashed out in the 1st round. Things didn’t really work out and eventually they decided to split.

Amanda had a fantastic 2019 when she won her maiden title in Bogota and the semifinal at the French Open. Curiously, both tournaments were played on Amanda’s least favorite surface: the red clay.

Amanda is scheduled to play her next tournament in Dubai in 1 week’s time.
